This is how families go hungry
Tue Feb 11, 2014
In reply to: webcelt #32 The thing with private charities, is their resources are proportional to the requirement. The foodbank at my church hums along nicely, getting extra food around the holidays and few even think about it. Then the pastor, comes one day and says they are in des …
Youth must fight income inequality for the sake of the future

I am a "millieial" too. I have a master's and paid off over $50K of student loans. I'm buying a house now. I certainly wouldn't have achieved that already if I was held back by a union and seniority rules. I have gotten raises and promotions because of my employer needs to do that to retain me.
End of the road for 'Government Motors'

The government has been paid back more money than it lent to the banks in TARP (and AIG still owes the treasury $4B). It was risky but in the end was a good investment for the American people. Obama's modificatin of the TARP program to bailout the auto industry was "never expected to get all o …

Mon Oct 7, 2013
"32 percent said they used arguments and other verbal pressure" Does that mean if a girl talks a guy into having sex with her, she just raped him? I am a little confused.
If star athletes sell junk food -- is your kid more likely to eat it?
Mon Oct 7, 2013
When we examine athletes, we need to consider first that their whole job pushes kids towards physical exercise. Pizza is a perfectly healthy food for a kid who get an hour or more of exercise daily...You know like a kid on the football team.
It's a miracle! Pope John Paul II takes big step toward sainthood

"You pray to the Father, in the name of Jesus." All Catholics agree with this. We pray the "Our Father" every week at mass and pray directly to our creator whenever we want. But we also pray through intermediaries.
